Berkshire Brownfields Program

BRPC is the recipient of an additional $1.4 million in US EPA Brownfields funds to bolster their $300,000 Berkshire Brownfield Program. From the new funds $400,000 will be used to assist public, private, and non-profit property owners with initial assessment activities to uncover possible contamination and develop remediation plans. Persons seeking to submit there site for consideration under the Berkshire Brownfield Assessment Program must first fill out a site profile form. Click here to download a site profile form.


BRPC has $1,000,000 to lend for clean up activities. The Berkshire Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund will provide subordinated loans and subgrants to enhance the credit worthiness of conventional or other traditional loans and funds and may fill funding gaps in the financial mix of a project. The maximum loan amount will be $200,000, not to exceed 80% of the clean up costs. The applicant will be required to provide a 20% match. Loans are available to public, private, and non-profit entities. Sub-grants are limited to municipalities and non-profits. Click here for more info on BBRLF.
