Traffic volume data, since 1977, for Berkshire County has been by the Massachusetts Highway Department and the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission at various locations throughout the region.

The MassHighway counts represent the Average Annual Daily Traffic (AADT) for the entire year. Until 2003, BRPC counted traffic on weekdays for a period of 48-72 hours. These counts were adjusted using seasonal factors. Therefore, BRPC counts until 2003 represent Annual Average Weekday Traffic (AAWT). Beginning in 2003, BRPC extended traffic count duration to 7 days. As a result, the adjusted BRPC counts for years 2003 and 2004 represent AADT.
