Berkshire Region Group Purchasing Program
About the Group Purchasing Program
The Berkshire Region Group Purchasing Program was first formed in the mid-1980’s. The Berkshire County Highway Superintendent’s Association, in cooperation with the Berkshire County Commissioners, created a regional program to assist with purchasing and procurement of highway-related goods and services. When county government disbanded in 2000, the Purchasing Program was formally established to allow regionalized procurement and purchasing to continue.
The BRGPP currently offers many highway related goods and services, as well as oil, diesel fuel, propane and gas. Specialized procurement is conducted on an as-needed basis. Thirty-eight cities and towns, as well as several school districts, fire districts, and other regional groups from within and beyond Berkshire County participate in the Program's regionalized bids, for a flat-rate annual fee.
