Route 7 & 20 Corridor Access Management Study

BRPC is administering a Corridor Access Management (CAM) Study for the portion of State Route 7&20 extending from Dan Fox Drive to New Lenox Road.  The Study Area is shown below.

CAM refers to a range of actions that assist with the preservation of road capacity and the maintenance of safe and efficient traffic operations.  CAM is most commonly implemented through a combination of capital improvements, design standards, and land use control measures.   In practice, CAM requires finding a balance between through movement of traffic, access to land, and preservation of community character.

Route 7&20 CAM Public Meetings

The Route 7&20 Study began in January 2010, when BRPC retained the consulting firm of VHB to prepare a Corridor Access Management Plan.   Assisting with the CAM process is a Study Management Committee that includes representatives from MassDOT, the Town of Lenox, and the City of Pittsfield.   BRPC and VHB will hold three Public Meetings over the course of the Study.  The first of these meetings was held March 24, 2010.
