Transportation Planning

The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is updated each year. It is the prioritized multi year plan for transportation rehabilitation and construction projects in the Berkshires.
The 2010 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is a list, budget and description of all federally funded transportation planning work proposed to be performed between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010. The work is conducted mostly by BRPC staff and consultants working for BRPC under the auspices of the Berkshire Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Like the TIP, the UPWP is a "certification" document required under the federal law governing metropolitan transportation planning.
The Route 7&20 Corridor Access Management Study focuses on transportation and land use measures that can improve operations and preserve the capacity of Route 7&20 between Dan Fox Drive and New Lenox Road.
The Coordinated Plan (Part 1) (Part 2) identifies transportation needs of individuals with disabilities and the elderly, as well as promotes use of public transit, especially for assisted income and low income individuals.
The Berkshire Biking & Walking Transportation Plan documents existing conditions of areas used for biking and walking and also includes recommendations for safe routes of travel.
