Arts and Culture Internship

Join us in developing the vibrant Cultural Districts of Berkshire County! Participate in meetings and create promotional content to move the Pittsfield Cultural Plan forward as BRPC’s Arts and Culture Intern for Summer 2024.

This is an unpaid position, with mileage reimbursement available for fieldwork travel within Berkshire County. 20-35 hours per week, for 10 weeks beginning mid-June. Hybrid.


BRPC provides staffing to two established Cultural Districts in Berkshire County and serves as a convener for these and other MCC-designated Cultural Districts in the region. BRPC is also currently supporting the development of a Cultural Plan for the City of Pittsfield. This position will support these efforts by participating in Cultural District meetings (recording minutes, developing meeting agendas, etc.) and maintaining Cultural District promotional efforts (writing e-newsletters, maintaining social media accounts, etc.), as well as a broad range of tasks, including public outreach to draft and refine the Pittsfield Cultural Plan.



  • Attend meetings (virtual and in-person) and take careful notes to track goals, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Support the logistical, administrative, and organizational needs of projects described above and additional arts and culture initiatives that may arise prior to the onset of the internship timeframe.
  • Connect with cultural stakeholders in all applicable communities to expand awareness of and participation in projects and initiatives.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

Successful candidates are organized, detail-oriented, self-directed, and strong written and oral communicators. Familiarity with Berkshire County’s cultural venues and facilities is a benefit. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and access to transportation for conducting fieldwork.
