GENERAL DESCRIPTION
BRPC holds two youth substance use prevention and mental health promotion grants, one aimed at raising protective factors among children 5-11 who may be at higher risk due to environmental factors, and another aimed at preventing the “substances of first use” (cannabis, alcohol, nicotine) among middle/high school-aged youth. This position will provide support to these two initiatives and may include community engagement and events, data analysis, developing meeting agendas, attending meetings, notetaking, and direct support planning and implementing new and/or existing programming for youth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend meetings (most are virtual) and take careful notes to track goals, objectives, and deliverables.
- Support the logistical, administrative, and organizational needs of the projects described above.
- Assist with data collection and analysis as needed.
- Engage community stakeholders and conduct outreach as needed.
- Support the development and implementation of new or existing services for youth, including helping the project facilitator(s) develop curricula, helping establish/collect/analyze program evaluation metrics, and assisting with running the programming.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Successful candidates are organized, detail-oriented, self-directed, and have strong written and oral communication skills. Familiarity with Berkshire County is a must. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive throughout the county as needed. Must have working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
- Experience running educational and personal development programming for children ages 5-11
- Experience engaging and cultivating leadership among adolescents
- Experience developing data collection tools, analyzing data, and preparing narrative and visual summaries for project stakeholders
- Comfort and confidence engaging a large and diverse group of community members
COMPENSATION
This internship has an expected pay rate of $16.30-$16.93 per hour, TBD based on qualifications.
