West Stockbridge — At its Monday meeting, the Select Board approved a Community One Stop for Growth grant submission by the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) on the town’s behalf. If awarded, the grant will fund a feasibility study for possible housing on the town hall site.
BRPC Principal Planner Brett Roberts presented the proposal to the Select Board. “Based on my past work with the Affordable Housing Trust, as well as [the Select Board], I know there’s been some interest in some potential housing on town hall site here,” Roberts said. “Part of the Community One Stop for Growth grant is to do what they call ‘predevelopment applications’ or ‘predevelopment packets,’ and what this would involve is that your grant would really focus on site design and analysis for housing development on town property.”
