Berkshire Benchmarks

Berkshire Benchmarks is a collaborative effort to provide regional data and analysis. The Data Clearinghouse provides a one-stop-shop for data about the region and is intended to assist decision makers, service providers, and others who need reliable data to inform their work. The Regional Indicators defines what we want for our future and then tracks progress in achieving these goals.

Census 2020

The US Census Bureau is preparing for the 2020 Census. BRPC has organized a Berkshire County Complete Count Committee to help get people motivated to participate in the Census, which occurs in March and April 2020.

Projects

Adams—Outsource GIS Planner

Provides the Town of Adams with a dedicated GIS Coordinator from the BRPC staff to perform part-time mapping services including the following activities: overall management of the towns GIS; development of maps for grant applications; mapping of existing town projects; updating of various town data layers.

Berkshire United Way provides funding to support the development of Berkshire Benchmarks, support BUW's strategic planning work, and provide support for their Community Impact work.

Berkshire Leadership Impact Council Regional Indicators

Berkshire Leadership Impact Council, through the Berkshire United Way, is providing funding to update the Berkshire Benchmarks website and to create regional indicators for the county.

Municipal Cybersecurity Services Pilot

This project will establish a regionalized municipal cybersecurity program in Berkshire County. This project will support communities in Berkshire County to make their internet-based information technology systems safer and standardized.

Online Permitting Upgrade

The Commonwealth is funding BRPC through its Efficiency and Regionalization program to upgrade the Building Permit Software for 21 communities and the Board of Health Permitting Software for 13 communities.

Promotion of the Arts in Education

BRPC is partnering with MCLA and the C4 Initiative to promote Berkshire County's cultural institutions to local educators and students in an effort to improve the arts in the county.
