PITTSFIELD — Around $250 million of the $63.4 billion Massachusetts budget is allocated directly to Berkshire County. Here’s where it’s going.

When Gov. Maura Healey signed the annual state budget on July 9, she made no changes to what the House and Senate approved. It’s a $2.5 billion increase and doesn’t add new statewide taxes on residents, but does use $2.7 billion collected from the state surtax on millionaires.

That number includes town and city state funding, Chapter 70 funding for schools, all municipal aid, regional school funding, higher education operations, and specific countywide services and earmarks.
