CPTC Webinar Series, Introduction to the Zoning Act

This is a great opportunity for newly elected Planning Board members.  The Spring – Summer CPTC Webinar Series begins with the workshop, Introduction to the Zoning Act. This workshop is aimed at newer Planning Board and Board of Appeals members and experienced members who wish to brush up on the Zoning Act. It addresses the purposes of the Zoning Act and the process (and the Planning Board’s role) for the adoption/amending of zoning bylaws and ordinances. The difference between variances and special permits will be discussed. Additionally, the course will include how zoning is enforced and by whom as well as the role of the Zoning Board of Appeals in variances and zoning appeals.

It is presented by Brian Currie, AICP who has many years of experience as a municipal planner in Massachusetts. It will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, May 23, 5:30 pm. More information and registration at
