Lee businesses receive a boost when it comes to implementing energy-saving improvements

Lee — With operating costs soaring for Commonwealth businesses, the Select Board took action to assist local enterprises while helping the environment at the same time.

During the group’s May 5 meeting, board members unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the town to participate in the Massachusetts Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (CPACE) Program, offering an affordable path for private business owners to finance energy improvements, upgrade existing buildings, or add increased equity to new construction projects. “It’s another option for somebody who wants to bring a business into town to get a different type of financing,” Town Administrator Christopher Brittain said of the program.
