Berkshire Regional Planning Commission (BRPC) seeks public input on its grant application (click HERE to access) to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). BRPC is applying to HUD’s PRO Housing grant program to provide funds for policy and planning work to remove barriers to the creation of housing in the Berkshires, which includes a regional assessment as well as assistance to interested communities in planning for new housing and removal of zoning barriers, funding for housing rehabilitation programs, and funding to create and preserve affordable housing units with long term income restrictions.
The grant project will result in funding distributed to three primary project partners related to housing rehabilitation and preservation – the towns of Great Barrington and Williamstown, and the city of Pittsfield.
BRPC will hold a public hearing to present the proposal on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 12:00 pm. The meeting will be a hybrid meeting at BRPC’s office at 1 Fenn Street, Suite 201, Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Virtual access will be provided via Zoom.
