LEE – BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, L-05-004, MEADOW STREET OVER POWDER MILL BROOK

This project proposes to replace Bridge L-05-004 in the Town of Lee, which carries Meadow Street over Powder Mill Brook (a.k.a. Beartown Brook). The bridge was closed due to its deteriorated condition and a temporary single lane bridge with alternating traffic has been placed over the existing bridge until a new permanent structure is constructed by this project. The project will not significantly change the existing geometry of the roadway and will restore a two-lane vehicle bridge over Powder Mill Brook. The existing bridge span will be lengthened to provide a wider hydraulic opening for Powder Mill Brook, stream scour counter measures and stream bank habitat improvements will be installed upstream of the bridge.
