Local Technical Assistance Funding
BRPC has been awarded a District Local Technical Assistance (DLTA) grant to provide assistance to Berkshire communities in the areas of sustainable development and land use objectives, and fostering partnerships between municipalities. Interested communities are being asked to return a Request for Technical Assistance by January 2, 2009. Please view the Information Sheet, or contact Tom Matuszko or Amy Kacala for more information.
American Planning Association Audio / Web Conferences
As part of its continued initiative to promote planning education, BRPC has obtained the new audio/web conferences through the American Planning Association (APA). At these conferences, participants gather at a central location to listen to the audio portion via telephone and view a PowerPoint presentation. Conferences cover a wide variety of planning topics. Participants should contact Sarah LaValley or Tom Matuszko stating their intention to attend and to learn if there have been any changes in the schedule. A nomimal fee of $15.00 per participant will be collected at the door to help cover the subscription costs. The
Berkshire Regional Planning Commission is the official area-wide planning
agency in the Berkshire region, with comprehensive planning responsibilities
which include assisting community and regional land use, transportation,
